The Temple College Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is seeking volunteers who are willing to have their abdomen scanned by students.

sonogramVolunteers are needed on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Students will scan the aorta, spleen, liver, kidneys, gallbladder and/or pancreas.

Abdominal scanning is painless and volunteers do not have to drink anything in advance of the scanning. Volunteers must have a primary physician and insurance in case the program’s radiologist needs to contact a physician.

The program also is in need of pregnant women to scan on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. Volunteers for this scanning will need to drink 32 oz. water an hour before their appointment and arrive 30 minutes early.
