Members of the Temple College volleyball team are helping raise funds for breast cancer research this month.

The team is raising money for the Side Out Foundation, which is funding new treatments for patients with stage 4 (metastatic) breast cancer. Stage 4 is the most advanced form of breast cancer, and there is currently no cure for it.

Coach Jordan Pickett said the team’s goal is to raise $1,000.

“I’m excited to attach our passion to a cause bigger than ourselves,” Pickett said.

Donations from the Temple College community may be made online at https://giving.side-out.org/campaigns/13059

The volleyball team will be using its last home game of the season Oct. 19 to promote its fundraising campaign with a “Dig Pink” Rally. Faculty and staff members who have been affected by breast cancer will be recognized at the game, which begins at 6 p.m. in the gym.
