The Texas Bioscience Institute Middle College program will hold an open house on Tuesday, Feb. 7, for prospective students and their parents.

TBI’s Middle College program offers high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to earn up to two years of STEM-focused college credit before they graduate from high school. Classes are held on the Baylor Scott &White campus in west Temple, which is located at 5701 Airport Rd.

The Open House will begin at 6 p.m. and is open to students from all area high schools, as well as home-schooled students. Visitors will have an opportunity to tour the facility, visit with TBI personnel and obtain information on applying for admission for the 2017-2018 year.

A second open house just for students in Killeen ISD will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m.

Since it was established in 2006, the TBI Middle College program has enabled more than 500 students to earn a STEM-focused associate degree from Temple College while they are still in high school. Many TBI graduates have gone on to pursue successful careers in medicine or science.
