The Temple College Dental Hygiene Program is seeking patients in need of dental hygiene care. Patients needed include those with gums that bleed during brushing, those who have not been to the dentist in several years, or those who have tartar build-up on their teeth.
Residents interested in obtaining care at the clinic must first come and be screened. Screenings will be offered from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on the following dates:
- Monday, March 28
- Monday, April 4
- Monday, April 11
- Monday, April 18
- Monday, April 25
Screenings are offered on a walk-in basis and take place in the Jean and Ralph Wilson Dental Hygiene Clinic, which is located on the first floor of the Health Sciences Center on the Temple College east campus.
After patients are screened, a dental hygiene student practitioner will call to set up a hygiene appointment. There is a $15 fee for hygiene services, which include cleaning and polishing, radiographs (x-rays), pit and fissure sealants when appropriate, fluoride applications, nutritional counseling and home care instruction. The fee is due at the first cleaning appointment.
