Temple College offers both a certificate program in surgical technology and an associate degree program. “The certificate program is good for those who would like to get in to the field and the associate degree program is a great way for those already practicing surgical technology to advance their careers,” said Sheila Spence, director of the program.
Beginning in 2021, all new surgical technologists will be required to have associate degrees, and certificate programs will no longer be offered.
The 2017-2018 surgical technology program will begin in June. An information session for interested students will be held Monday, Jan. 9, at 3 p.m. in Room 1814 of the Health Science Center.
