Three Temple College health professions programs are now accepting applications for classes that will start in summer 2018.

Jan. 18 is the deadline to apply for the next vocational nursing class, which will begin in June 2018. The vocational nursing program is a one-year program designed to prepare students to function in a variety of healthcare settings under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Dec. 19 is the deadline to apply for the LVN Bridging program, which helps licensed vocational nurses become registered nurses (RNs). The next class begins in May 2018.

Jan. 31 is the deadline to apply for the Surgical Technology program that begins in May 2018.

Temple College offers both a certificate program in surgical technology and an associate degree program. The certificate program is good for those who would like to get in to the field and the associate degree program helps practicing surgical technologists advance their careers.

Surgical technologists, registered nurses and vocational nurses are all on the 2016-17 list of highest-paying occupations with job openings in Central Texas, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
