The Temple College Biology Department and the Temple College Science Club are hosting a Biology Seminar on Monday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. in Room 301 of the Newton Science Building.
The seminar is titled “The Amazing Freshwater Mussels of Texas” and will be presented by Marsha May, a biologist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
May coordinates the department’s Texas Mussel Watch program, in which members of the public are invited to help determine the distribution and relative abundance of different freshwater mussel species. She also serves as president of the Texas Mollusk Society.
May has also been teaching biology for Temple College at the East Williamson County Higher Education Center in Hutto since 2013.
The seminar is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Jason Locklin at Jason.firstname.lastname@example.org.
