A variety of activities will be held at Temple College in February to celebrate Black History Month. The activities, dates and times are as follows:

Monday, Feb. 13: The movie “The Great Debaters” will be shown in the lounge of the Arnold Student Union (ASU) at 11 a.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 15: Local musician Betty Joe Wilkerson will play the guitar from noon-1 p.m. in the ASU lounge.

Thursday, Feb. 16:  Local NAACP President Benny Walsh will speak at 2:30 p.m. in ASU Room 804.

Monday, Feb. 20: The movie “Rosa Parks” will be shown in the ASU lounge at 11 a.m.

Monday, Feb. 27: The movie “Selma” will be shown in the ASU lounge at 11 a.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 28: There will be a “Taste of Soul Food” from noon-1 p.m. in the Arnold Student Union.

Throughout the month, a display about Historically Black Colleges and Universities will be on display in the Arnold Student Union, and an African-American minister from the community will bless the food that is provided for lunch every Monday by the Baptist Student Ministry.
