Temple College is now accepting applications for its next diagnostic medical sonography class, which will start in August 2016. The deadline to apply for the program is June 1.
Temple College offers a two-year program that leads to an associate of applied science degree in diagnostic medical sonography. Program graduates are eligible to take the exam offered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, which is the credentialing body for sonographers.
Information sessions about the program will be held Jan. 13, Feb. 19, March 9, April 11 and May 2 at 9 a.m. in Room 2807 of the Pavilion on the Temple College main campus.
Diagnostic medical sonography is one of the fastest-growing medical imaging careers in the country. In Central Texas, the demand for qualified sonographers is currently far greater than the supply, and jobs openings in the area are projected to increase more than 33 percent over the next seven years.
