Included in the celebration will be tours of the college’s new Student Success Center, which opened this fall. The Student Success Center houses a variety of services designed to help students get into college and succeed while they are in college, including a Testing Center, a Writing Center, a Math Tutoring Lab, and all the programs that fall under Adult Education and Literacy.
The celebration also will include a program on the history of Temple College. Featured speakers for this program include former history professor Dr. Weldon Cannon, former biology professor Dr. Anne Penney Newton, longtime trustee Dr. Harry Macey, Jr. and Dr. Marc Nigliazzo, who served as president of Temple College from 1995 to 2008. This program will begin at 5 p.m. in Room 101 of the Instructional Services Center, which is adjacent to the Student Success Center.
The event will end with several musical performances in the Arnold Student Union. Featured performers will include Buddy Holly and the Crickets (Temple Style) and the East Bell County Boys.
A variety of giveaways and food will be available. Visitors are encouraged to park in the South Parking Lot located off Loop 363 (see the campus map at http://templejc.edu/about/campus-map/ for details).
