Dental hygiene education requires 31 hours of general education requirements and two full calendar years within the dental hygiene curriculum for degree completion. Applications for the Temple College Dental Hygiene Program are received until February 15th each year. Enrollment in the program is limited with the maximum number of 12 positions available per class. Students are accepted into the program in strict accordance with very specific admission criteria that is described in the application packet.

Official transcripts from all colleges and universities must be included in the application materials. All pre-requisite courses must have been completed within five years of application.  It is the student’s responsibility to bring a complete portfolio with transcripts, test scores, and application to the program secretary before the stated deadline. Students who are not accepted into the Dental Hygiene Program may reapply to the program the following year. The applicant can apply a maximum of three times.  If a student chooses to re-apply to the program, a new application packet must be submitted along with updated transcripts if other courses are taken. In addition to the program application, students who are accepted into the Dental Hygiene Program must also complete an application to Temple College along with an additional set of transcripts. To ensure that a student has completed all steps in the application process, a final checklist can be found in the application packet for personal use.

All sessions are held in the Health Science Center on the East Campus.

*There are NO Information Sessions in the months of December and May due to Final Exams.

These policies are available in the Program Director’s office and in the Temple College Dental Hygiene Student Manual.
